Winning through collaboration in Daejeon through Google Classrooms
Holston Girls' Middle School is a Christian-affiliated private school located in Daejeon, which has a history of 123 years in women's education in Korea. 69 students and 15 teachers participated in the pilot, out of the 280 students and 28 teachers. The school's main characteristic is the diverse socioeconomic backgrounds of students. Additionally, there is a very collaborative nature among the teachers, as reflected by their effort to improve classes by operating a class-sharing teacher club.
As students already had above-average digital literacy skills, the school was interested in creating an environment that is conducive to learning for all. They also wanted to see how Google tools can suit teachers’ various levels when it comes to familiarity with technology usage in the classrooms.
