Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) was founded in 1984 and is situated in Damn-e-Koh, Islamabad, Pakistan. A total of 12 teachers and 55 students in grade 7 participated in the pilot. The school was selected for the pilot given its strategic geographical location, which paves the way for support in infrastructure from the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) as well as general familiarity with technology. The school was also particularly interested in seeing the effects of technology adoption in classrooms on women empowerment for the community.
Unlike many other schools going through Albus, Islamabad Model College for Girls was often disrupted by technology infrastructure issues such as power cut-offs and low Internet connectivity. With device shortage on top of such problems, the school wanted to see how Google Workspace for Education tools could enhance the classroom and what best practices for a shared device model are.
