Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jalan Empat (SMK Jalan Empat) is a public school located in Selangor, Malaysia and founded in 2003. The school has grown to around 1,500 students and 100 teachers and has built an excellent academic reputation accepting only students with strong examination results. Like many public schools in Malaysia, the school had started to embrace technology to help mitigate the challenges of COVID-19 and was towards the beginning of their technology journey when Google for Education started to work with them.
Principal Datin Wan Nor Ashikin has a strong track record of leadership and innovation and outlined the challenge: The school adopted technology as a response to COVID-19. But, how could the school accelerate their technology transformation so that the teaching and learning activities in the school were on par with the world’s most innovative classrooms, and how could the school ensure they are fostering 21st century students?
